Welcome Session:
- Activity: Kickoff event with university leaders and faculty welcoming students to CU.
- Purpose: To introduce students to the CU community and set the tone for the orientation experience.
Campus Tours:
- Activity: Guided tours of the campus, including key academic buildings, student services, dining halls, and recreational facilities.
- Purpose: To familiarize students with their new environment and where essential services are located.
Academic Immersion Sessions:
- Activity: In-depth, interactive sessions led by faculty members, offering a closer look at specific academic programs and fields of study.
- Purpose: To provide prospective students with a deeper understanding of their chosen academic interests and what it’s like to study at CU.
Academic Showcase:
- Activity: A series of presentations, demonstrations, and exhibits showcasing CU's academic programs, research initiatives, and student achievements.
- Purpose: To give prospective students an overview of the diverse academic opportunities at CU and highlight the unique strengths and opportunities within each department.
Parent Panel:
- Activity: A panel discussion featuring current CU parents, staff, and university leaders, offering insights into the parent experience at Campbellsville University.
- Purpose: To provide prospective parents with valuable information about supporting their student through the college journey, including campus resources, academic support, and student life.
Student Panel:
- Activity: A panel of current CU students sharing their experiences, insights, and advice about life at Campbellsville University.
- Purpose: To provide prospective students with an authentic view of what it’s like to be a student at CU, covering topics such as academics, campus life, and extracurricular activities.
Closing Ceremony:
- Activity: A final gathering where university leaders, faculty, and staff wrap up the day’s events with closing remarks and reflections on the Preview Day experience.
- Purpose: To offer a sense of closure to the event, answer any remaining questions, and leave prospective students and families with a lasting impression of the CU community.
* Expect to be on campus for 6 or so hours to experience the full event
Preview Day will take place on Campbellsville University's beautiful 200-acre campus, providing the perfect setting to explore all that CU has to offer. Activities will be held in key locations across campus, including academic buildings, student centers, and outdoor spaces, giving you a comprehensive view of university life. Parking will be on Chandler Street (Parking Next to Building #'s 7, 49, and 9 on the campus map. Check-in will begin at the main entrance of Ransdell Chapel (#32), and from there, you'll be guided through various sessions and tours to help you get familiar with our campus and resources.
- Registration:
- Ensure you’ve registered for Preview Day in advance. You will receive a confirmation email with your registration details and schedule for the day.
- Arrival & Check-In:
- Check-in begins at [location] upon arrival. Plan to arrive early to allow time for parking and registration. Staff and volunteers will be available to direct you.
- Parking:
- Free parking is available on campus. You will receive parking instructions in your confirmation email. Be sure to follow the designated areas to ensure a smooth arrival.
- Campus Map:
- A map of the campus will be provided during check-in to guide you through the day's activities and locations. Be sure to keep it handy for easy navigation.
- Schedule of Events:
- Review your detailed schedule for the day to familiarize yourself with the sessions, tours, and activities. You’ll also receive a printed schedule upon check-in.
- Comfortable Attire:
- Wear comfortable clothing and shoes suitable for walking, as you will be touring the campus. The event will take place both indoors and outdoors.
- Weather Preparedness:
- Check the weather forecast and prepare accordingly. If the weather is expected to be sunny, bring sunscreen and a hat. If rain is expected, bring an umbrella or rain jacket.
- Questions & Materials:
- Bring any questions you have about programs, admissions, or campus life. Feel free to bring a notebook to jot down important information during the event.
- Dining Options:
- Light refreshments will be provided, and there will be opportunities to explore dining facilities on campus during breaks. You may also want to bring a water bottle.
- Follow Up:
- After the event, you will receive follow-up information via email, including additional resources and the next steps in your admissions journey.
